Tvheadend Sat>IP Server is not recognized by Eyetv

Description
I tried to use Eyetv as the client of the Tvheadend Sat>ip server, but tvheadend server is not recognized by Eyetv.
On the Geniatechs support page is written:
Please Note: EyeTV only supports officially certified SAT>IP devices, as listed at http://www.satip.info/

Is it possible to make tvheadend satip server compatible with eyetv?

If your TVH is correctly configured, it should be visible like a standard SAT>IP server on your network. You can analyze the network traffic to gather information what's missing or why the client does not like the TVH server.

I don't know how to use wireshark.
The server is visible on the network by other Sat>ip clients but all have serious problems in finding the channels. The android Elgato Sat>ip client is seeing tvheadend satip server but is not able to start channel scan. Elgato Eyetv is not seeing the tvheadens satip server neither.
Only the Black Hole Sat>ip client is working right now. All the other clients are not.
Since I am watching tv on the Mac, I need Eyetv to be working with tvheadend satip server.

There are some improvements in the SAT>IP server in 4.3 (latest) - perhaps, you can give a try.

Note: I backported all v4.3 changes in the SAT>IP server code to v4.2.3.19 .

Hi, I updated tvheadend to 4.2.3.19 and tried to make the sat>ip server work with Eyetv(on Mac) and Elgato Sat>ip client (on Android).

Do you have SAT>IP RTSP port configured to 554 in tvheadend? Most of clients work only with this port.

I'll add a note about this to the docs. Also if you could add <doc> tags [Like I've done below], to anything you feel should be in the Help that would be great :). It's a shame you can't add a redmine tag though, would be a bit easier!

I suppose to have enable the 554 port in the Sat>ip server configuration page. After setting the 554 port I entered the following command "sudo service tvheadend restart".

I recommend to first implementing the workaround of "Implicit PLAY after SETUP" (#4474). Elgato SAT>IP client is now part of the Geniantech family, and implementations of this company are prone to errors. So, test it after a patch. The trouble appears usually in the "scanning process".

OOOOK guys! We are very near to the solution. After the changes in version 4.2.3.19 now Eyetv is detecting the server and also the android client Geniatech Satip client is!!!! WOW :)
Both clients are not giving me the "Autoscan Error 1" error anymore!
Anyway, when I try to scan for channels, no channels is detected and I am receiving the following errors from tvheadend.

I put 1 into "Sat>IP Source" and after restarting tvheadend, Eyetv does not recognize tvheadend anymore, Geniatech Sat>ip client gives me "Autoscan Error 1". The only client that is working right now is VLC. Before putting the "1" under 'SAT>IP Source', VLC wasn't working, while Eyetv and android client was partialy working.

From my understanding, the problem is that both Eyetv and Geniatech Sat>ip are BACKENDS and doesn't want tvheadend server to "send them" the channel list, but they need to SCAN for channels only.
VLC, on the other hand, cant scan for channels and so it acts like a REAL CLIENT and needs tvheadend to send him the channel list.
I think that tvheadend should work in both scenarios. Do you think this is a possible implementation?

OK, do you have correct SAT>IP server config? For standard satellite clients, there should be announced only DVB-S2 (not DVB-S). Anyway, you should show the whole TVH config, it's really difficult to guess something from the magic ball. The config is in <CFGDIR>/config and it should be like:

I don't think so. The problem seems different. The client should always detect TVH as SAT>IP server, but we need to figure, what's wrong on your side. From the behaviour you described, the list of tuner types is not accepted by the clients and they just refuse to list/use the TVH SAT>IP server.
