Feature #4073
openWizard: replace pre-defined list usage with auto scanning
0%
Description
I've noticed that people are having issues scanning for services (For example: https://tvheadend.org/boards/5/topics/23025?r=232833).
Adding a blind/auto scan to Tvheadend should hopefully resolve these kind of issues. This would really be useful to new users that use the wizard, for example, instead of having to select a pre-defined list (which is usually outdated), scan all available frequencies common to that delivery system. Basically pretty much what a standard set-top-box or TV would do.
The only issue that I can think of with this is when the tuner fails or even how to tell if the tuner has failed or the tuned frequency is empty. One solution would be to add messages to the dialog informing the user that there may be an issue scanning at certain percentages during the scan.
Additionally, if bouquets have been found and once the scan has completed, offer to automatically set up channels.
This would make Tvheadend at lot more user friendly.
