The remote client closed the connection. It's a write error for the network socket.

Could you please explain this in more detail? What does "it's a write error for the network socket" mean, e.g. is it caused by an error of the network hardware (cabling, connector, network interface card), an error of the network configuration of the NAS or an error of the client etc.?
I see this error in my log using 4.3-1236~g518d57b and can't remember having seen it before.

It's an error returned from the system's network stack. It can be anything. You may use a network analyzer like wireshark or so to look where the problem is. If your box freezes, it appears like a hw problem of the box. But it's just a guess.

And Tvh generates this error message every time it detects a loss of connection?
