Bug #3216
Feature #3217: Copy OTA EPG between channels or use other channels EPG. Possible?
Missing epg (OTA) Rai HD 2 and RAI HD 3
0%
Description
Hello,
Could not find anything on this, forgive me if this has already been addressed.
I get OTA EPG on all RAI channels except for RAI2 HD and RAI3 HD. This seems to be common on other systems and solutions vary from xmltv and use of aliases from channel rai2 and rai3 sd.
Is there a simple way to link EPG data from the SD channels to the HS channels. Have I missed something here?
channel info (RAI2 HD):

Hotbird 13E

Thanks!

If you tune using a set-top-box sat tuner connected to your TV, do you get the EPG info?
That is, are you sure that these two channels transmitting EIT EPG data?
One solution would be using XMLTV data from the SD channels to populate the HD channels' EPG in tvheadend.

Gabriele,
Thank you for your reply!
I have not tested with a set-top-box, (dont have one). I think you are correct, that the channels are not sending EIT EPG data, so it is not a bug.
I thought about using XMLTV data for this purpose, but wanted to avoid setting this up as I prefer the OTA epg.
Feature #3217 would also solve the problem.

XMLTV is really interesting, you can get one week of program listings ahead, while for most channels EIT only provides now/next info.
Setting up XMLTV may be a little hard but then it is all automatic.
You can then use both XMLTV and EIT, or set the system to prefer one or the other for each channel.
Other solutions may be a little too much imaginative.
