well, it is possible, but not always.

I made a profile transcode-test-2. If I copy the video coded and don't specify the resolution(transcode-1.jpg), the video stream is copied to the mkv file in it's original resolution. If I specify the codec at libx264 and don't specify the resolution, tvh transcodes the video stream but also changes the resolution to 226x240 (recording of SD channel) or 426x240 (recording of HD channel).

I don't know exactly what the expected behaviour is or should be. I think the 0=auto setting as with the bitrates is most likely what it is, but it would be nice if we could specify if the resolution should be changed or not.
