Bug #2175
Signal Scale
0%
Description
The "Signal Scale" which is available on Sat>IP tuners is labelled "(240 or 100)" but with my Triax TSS400 this results in signal strengths of 106% - it looks like this is using a scale of 0-255. Setting the upper boundary to 255 thankfully works and seems to give sensible results (95-99%). Wording may be better as "Typically 240, 100, or 255".
This option would also be very useful for my DVB-T USB tuners where the percentage value is up to 65535%.
Currently my DVB-T2 tuner is reporting a strength of 53404% which is about 81% of 65535. In TVHeadend 3.4 it was reporting about 82% so this tallies up.
My two DVB-T tuners are reporting 65535% and used to report 100% (They do drop to 0% if you remove the antenna).

Have look at https://github.com/tvheadend/tvheadend/pull/434 and see if it helps (if you can compile your own build).

- Status changed from New to Fixed
The DVB-T signal scale is fixed. For SAT>IP your device does not follow specification (the maximum value is 240). It's configurable, so no harm...

Prof Yaffle,
Apologies in the delay getting back to you but the machines been tied up with the Commonwealth Games for a few weeks and I've only just had time to look.
Both XBMC and the TVHeadend are now reporting sensible numbers for the signal strength.
One minor niggle, on some transponders - e.g. when viewing Motors TV - the web UI reports and XBMC disagree slightly (e.g. 92% vs 91%) - guessing some minor rounding issue! On others, e.g. when viewing NOW Music TV, the value matches (85%).
Jaroslav Kysela,
Just to confirm this is now reporting sensible numbers in both XBMC and the Web UI for all three of my TV Cards. The SNR is missing on my DVB-T2 tuner but I believe that has always been the case.
