Description

If e.g. the recording output file is not writable, then the recording is listed as "running" all the time in the UI... although it never really started. At the end the status gets "file missing".

Would be better if the status would switch to "failed" immediately to indicate an issue.

I think you're right, I've probably been tripped up by this myself in the past.
