Can you confirm you're still seeing this, there was a bit of a cockup overnight. But I pushed a fix this morning which has certainly sorted things my end.

just adding a "me too", seeing this on 3.9.533 - well slightly different than the OP in that my tuner card doesn't 'disappear' - but it is a different card - but on attempting to receive, i get similar sort of errors. Happened also with a scheduled recording earlier this evening (thusly lost, shrug) so not just live watching.
eg for a flavour:

It is working much better, but may I ask what these error messages mean. I sometimes get a continuity error at a start of a recording which is fine (usually the card catching up). But what are these error messages, the only appear briefly mind you.

Just to let you know I get rid of the CC error's and continuity errors by disabling the "Power Save" option in the tuners.
Updated by Petar Ivanov over 10 years ago
By "default" is off, i don't know what you make to on. I think Adam fix all in last version can download from git.

I know default is "off" but I was playing around with the settings wasn't I.

I think that the issues are fixed, please shout if you disagree.
With regards to the comments about "power save". This was a change from older versions, it was always the case that the default was to always keep all devices open all the time. At one point a long time ago I modified to close idle devices (to potentially allow them to power save). However that in turn uncovered a problem with my tuners, that spurt crap onto the wire on power up/down (DVB-S) and a lack of isolation in the LNB meant I would see errors on anything else (including commercial STBs) that happened to be connected to the same LNB.
So I then made this feature optional, but the default was to keep things open. With the more dynamic device handling in master I reneged on this somewhat by changing the default back to close on idle. But can result in errors and thus was causing me problems (since people were rightly complaining), so I've done yet another 180 and made the default keep stuff open.
If people want to be green and either know there tuners are ok (I think my new ones are) or simply don't care about a bit of interference during tuning then they can enable the power save option (which basically just closes all device handles allowing the driver to put the device into a power save mode should it have one).

Thanks Adam,
I did notice this with previous versions as well, everytime it would check EPG or if I recorded another show at a different time on the second tuner it would spurt out errors. Good to know all of this.

Ah! I am still on 3.9.385~g7d8d81a~precise but thanks to discussion in this topic and others about the "power save" which was previously called "keep FE open", I decided to test with Keep FE open ENABLED on all my 8 tuners (2 x quad CINE S2 cards) and voila!! Now my continuity counter errors (and minimal artifacts caused during this) are gone when the EPG process runs.
Wonderful!
