Description

I notice when I map channels they all get a TV Channels tag put on automatically. I was wondering if the same could be done with Network Name. I use Networks in the new master to sort my channels by what satellite they are on. I tag channels so I can filter the list by group in XBMC. That way when I turn the dish I can keep only channels with a signal on the current satellite in the list. It's important to do this as XBMC tends to crash if you try to tune a channel that has no signal available.

Typing in channel names and numbers is fairly easy in the new master UI, but tagging them all is a bit of a task. Even being able to select a group of channels at one time and give them all the same tag would be a big help. Perhaps more so as I don't use the TV Channels tag or the SDTV tag it would be nice to be able to group select and remove those tags all at once.

It's kinda meant to do that, but there are a few things that aren't quite right.

Do you want the network name that you have defined? Or the one in the DVD feed?

I would want the name I've defined. Network names are rarely in the tables here, when they are they likely will be longer than what you want to see in XBMC. Also the same network can be on multiple satellites.

I create all the tags to match the network names before I start adding Muxes and services so they show up in the correct order in XBMC. Not sure if there is a way to sort the tag order after the fact, but it's not a big deal. There may even already be a way to change the order in XBMC that I haven't noticed.

Main thing is that master seems to have stopped corrupting the channels and services when ever I turn the dish so that is a huge win.
