Description

HDHomeRun tuner works via utilities from SiliconDust, I can watch TV on it.

TVH scans for channels, finds services, lets me map them and assign them to EPG sources.

XBMC sees the channels as radio, not TV, except for one channel that says it's channel 0 and has no info.

I have reset both xbmc and tvh to factory defaults (rename .xbmc and .hts folder), this did not help after configuring again.

I'm happy to provide any info you require. I'm also seeing bug 1855 happening (TvAdapter in recent unstable (3.9) creates new adapter for each restart with HDHomeRun) where I end up with two adapters labelled HDHomeRun, and two dvb adapters.

I'm also facing the same minor issue with XBMC seeing TV channels as radio channels, not entirely sure if its HDHomerun specific though.

It's actually more likely to be ATSC related than HDHR. For the services that aren't reporting properly please can you look in the services tab and tell me what service type number is (Note: the column is hidden by default, click drop down arrow on any column and then go to column sub-menu and select "Service Type").

I might need to think of a better way to handle this so users can re-configure things for random service type numbers.

All of my services have service type 2.

Well that would certainly explain why they're listed as radio. Servicetype 2 is radio. This could possibly be another major incompatibility with ATSC.

Please can you provide a muxdump.

The one I posted here a while ago should suffice, this station has not changed.

Many thanks,

OK, I see the problem the service_type in the VCT has no relation to the service types usually defined in DVB. Not that surprising really.

I think the short solution is to remove the processing of that field. And leave it to the auto-detection (based on streams present).
