Description

Hello,
I would like to start off by saying that I am in no way complaining, I really think tvheadend is fantastic and I'm happy to be using it.
Unfortunately I am having some issues with the timeshifting feature and it seems like other people are having similar issues as well
so I would like to describe what's happening to me and describe a work around that can probably be turned into a feature.

I am running
HTS Tvheadend 3.5.244~gf5c5ffd-dirty and using XBMC 12.2 as a front end.

Following suggestions given by Adam Sutton and various users in the forum, I've gotten to the point where I can pause and play reliably but
FF and Rew behave erratically.

Most attempts at fast forwarding will work but will occasionally freeze what I'm watching. Instead of catching up
and resuming play when fast forwarding to the the present, it will loop to the beginning of the recording and just stay in a loop fast forwarding and restarting the recording.

When rewinding, I can't seem to stop where I want to stop, instead it just rewinds to the beginning of the recording.

What I've done to kind of work around this problem is to start recording what I'm watching then switch over the recordings section and start playing back the
file that is currently being recorded (I'm assuming that XBMC is handling the playback). Although doing it this way I can pause, Rewind and FF reliably it's a clunky workaround.

A nice feature would be to have the user selected option of allowing XBMC to handle the timeshifting.

This is not the right approach. We just need to find some time (and expertise) to fix the timeshifting code.
