EPG integrated with Automatic Recorder

Description
Hi, i am a frequent user of the "automatic recorder" feature and i have stumbled upon one problem. Discovery Channel airs every new episode at least a few times a week and the automatic recorder records all of them. Would it be possible to get it to save the epg on each episode it records and match it for every new scheduled recording it makes so it doesn't record the same episode more than once?

I am not good at C but I will do my best to introduce duplicate checking. I will probably fail but I also need this. Badly.
I have managed to copy just what you (we) ask for in PHP but just for MythTV. We should be able to use the same solution to find dublicates but yeah, I have to learn C.

Updated by Not sure what data source that's for, but if you're using OpenTV (sky) then use the series link button from the EPG. This will do proper series linking and will not record duplicates.
There did used to be duplicate detection in the early versions of my EPG code, unfortunately it caused problems (false positives) and so the decision was taken to remove it. The plan was always to add it back in with a user configurable option. Unfortunately having taken on a larger share of the maintenance I've not really got near the EPG code since.

Sadly I've just discovered (today) a problem with this approach (series link) too. BBC Click (embedded within BBC News 24 usually, but also elsewhere and never as a full-blown standalone programme) does not provide a series record ONLY autorec. This may well apply to other programmes
