Description

I just added a DVB-S2 device to my current DVB-T setup. My DVB-T device was identified as adapter0 and adapter1. When adding the DVB-S2 device, it claimed adapter0 and adapter1, while the DVB-T device shifted to adapter2 and adapter3.

tvheadend however bases its configuration on a filename named after the adapter, thus with this shift, it doesn't know where which device is. The UI shows the DVB-T device twice (for each tuner).

Removing/cleaning up /etc/tvheadend/dvb* (or via the UI) and restarting tvheadend of course works but is a little messy. Cleaner would be other ways, where device configuration is stored irrelevant to its location in the dvb chain.

It's documented that TVH does have a rather rigid model for managing the adapters and there are already FRs in (plus other ongoing work) to improve the adapter management. But this is not a bug.
