Description

Since A1TV (Austrian provider) has changed the broadcasting of their channels from rtp to udp, the udp channels do not work on Tvheadend anymore.
On vlc mediaplayer, however, they play fine.

Can you clarify exactly what they've changed to? And possibly attach a sample. TVH does not support RTP, only MPEGTS over UDP Multicast.

Sorry, of course i meant the other way round, they changed from udp to rtp.
Is it possible to build in support for rtp?

e.g. from m3u playlist
#EXTINF:0,ORF eins
rtp::8208

  • Tracker changed from Bug to Feature
  • Subject changed from IPTV stopped working with A1TV (Austrian provider) to IPTV RTP input support
  • Status changed from Need feedback to Accepted

Moving to FR's as this is not a bug but relates to functionality that doesn't exist.

Hi,

Can you capture a wireshark log of your connection to one of these channels and post it up here.

A while back I found that the only problem for my IPTV (Imagenio in Spain) was the 'Extension Header' for RTPv2 wasn't handled properly by TVH. It was patchable quite quickly and I got TVH working. Can't promise anything, but if you provider stuck to MPEG-TS over RTP you may find it's a bug rather then a new feature.

Long time ago that I have been in here..
This should be the requested package captured with Wireshark.

And this is the full capture of eth0, when starting the stream.

The iptv channel is in a playlist:
#EXTINF:0,ORF eins
rtp::8208
