Feature #1422
Posibility to let a second client stop a running client and change channel/mux
0%
Description
Hi,
In case there are multipple clients sharing a tvheadend server for example 2 XBMC clients, it is possible to watch different channels as long as they are on the same mux (with one TV card). But if the second clients try watch channel outside of the mux, there is a error message saying that the adapter is already in use.
Would it be possible to introduce a setting in tvheadend that change this behaviour and let any new client connecting stop a running clients and watch the desired channel.
This is realy useful if one client in another room is still running when you try to start the other client in a different room.
I assume this gets a little bit more complex with mulltiple TV-cards setup but in that case a stop of any used adapter/client would free an adapter for the new client connecting.
Maybe this is already posssible today but i have not seen this feature.

I think this has been discussed elsewhere but I cannot remember if an existing FR exists, I'll leave open until I've had a chance to sort through things.
But in principle yes it could be done but would probably (ideally) require some input from the client application to allow feedback to the user etc...
