Moved from github:

I think there are some standard uses for the extended fields which could be parsed out. This might be worth looking into. EPG collector parses some such values.

My cable provider (StarHub TV, Singapore) uses this mechanism to deliver additional metadata, such as the episode numbers. (fwiw, tvheadend 4.3-1173~g6311cf7 isn't able to get any episode numbers from the OTA EPG.)

I've attached some key:value sample data scraped from one of the muxes; I'm not sure what some of the fields mean (especially the numerous *CatchupIPTV fields), but the Actors, AudioTrack, Directors, EpisodeNo and EpisodeTitle fields are probably self-explanatory.

I've also attached the xmltv EPG scraped from DVB-C with hiroshiyui's epgrab.

If there's anything else I can help with, I'll be more than happy to provide assistance.
