newer version extemly laggy on armhf architecture

Added by Magnus Pfeffer about 11 years ago

My setup are two USB DVB-S2 Technotrend S2-3600 receivers on a 4-LNB switch (Diseq 2.0, Satellites E28.2, E19.2, E13, W15)
I have been using tvheadend successfully on a seagate dockstar (armhf architecture) device for more than three years.

Recently I got a new developer board ("cubieboard" with faster arm cpu, more ram and newer kernel) and decided to upgrade my tvheadend system. The board is running debian wheezy and is working properly.

When I updated to the latest tvheadend release (3.4), the web interface and connections from clients lagged extremly and tvheadend was completely unusable for interactive use. Recordings worked fine. There was nothing unusual in the debug logs. The system did not show any increased cpu utilization during laggy connections.

In order to isolate the issue I
- configured tvheadend from scratch
- switched to the latest git version (and back to 3.4)
- compiled with and without optimizations

to no avail.

I went back to the last version I used (HTS Tvheadend 3.2.18~g40a8920) and everything is fine again.

Do you have any advice on what I should try to further debug this issue?

Regards,

Magnus
