Reinstalling tvheadend package on Ubuntu from scratch
Added by Anonymous almost 14 years ago
I have one TT-Budget C-1501 DVC-C card working in tvheadend and I am trying to add three DVBWorld DVB-S2 PCIE2006 cards.
The DVB-S cards require the liplianin v4l branch, which I have installed. On reboot the DVB-S cards are listed, but the original DVB-C card appears twice in the 'TV Adapters' tab, and the card no longer works. I believe that tvheadend keeps the old profile for this card and creates a second, new profile under the new liplianin driver and the two conflict with each other.
How can I completely remove all tvheadend configuration, so that I can start from scratch, as though it is a new install? I am using the Ubuntu stable package, 2.12.
Thanks,
Tom

I was able to reset to default by removing the tvheadend directory from /home/hts/.hts/

Right, FWIW ..
$ aptitude purge hts-tvheadend
.. will do the trick
remove remove the binaries, docs, etc
purge remove everything, even files the software itself created

Stop service
go to config folder and remove
/home/hts/.hts/tvheadend/input/linuxdvb
then start service
