"HTTP" subscribing in XBMC

Added by Toni González about 11 years ago

Good morning,

First of all, I apologize for my English level.

I'm having some doubts about the protocol used by the clients to connect to the server. If we see the logg when a client is connecting to the server, we see:

Sep 12 10:09:25.081 subscription: "83.247.136.41 [ xbmc | XBMC Media Center ]" subscribing on "Canal Plus Liga HD", weight: 150, adapter: "eth1", network: "", mux: "239.0.0.42", provider: "", service: "", quality: 100

But if we try a connection through the app TVHGuide installed into a tablet, we see:

Sep 12 09:14:41.658 subscription: "HTTP" subscribing on "Canal Plus Liga HD", weight: 100, adapter: "eth1", network: "", mux: "239.0.0.42", provider: "", service: "", quality: 100

As we can see, in the first case the protocol used is HTSP, but in the second one is HTTP.

My doubt is if there exists any way to configure XBMC so the connection always is stablished by http

The reason is that loggin in throught a wan connection only works properly with HTTP.

Thanks you a lot,

Logging in with HTSP in fundamentally not different from logging in via HTTP - except for 1 thing:

Remember to open/forward traffic for port 9981 for HTTP (you have this already) - AND port 9982 for HTSP... Then it will work. And you should connect via HTSP from XBMC!

Hello,

thanks a lot for your response!

I haven't explained myself. I success in the connection through the wan in both cases. From XBMC, it downloads the TV channels, and I can even see some photogram. The problem is that is not fluent. However, when I do the connection from TVHguide, everything works fine!

Any other idea?

Would argue that it is XBMC causing the problems...
Try to install VLC, and the HTSP plugin to VLC on your PC... Then you will experience that it is actually working much better via HTSP than via HTTP... (I assume :)
