Does tvheadend work with a Hauppauge HDPVR?

I'm trying to get tvheadend to work on my combo OTA and starchoice(now shaw direct) sat receiver.
I've managed to get tvheadend working with my HDhomerun unit, recording shows and everything.
the hauppauge is recognized by linux:
[ 2.180883] usb 1-1: Product: Hauppauge HD PVR
[ 4.045401] hdpvr 1-1:1.0: device now attached to video0
I've got lircd working for the IR blaster and a channel changing script available.
tvheadend can see the hdhomerun but no sign of the HD-PVR
I'm running ubuntu 12.04, with tvheadend 3.3.525
Anyone?
Would still love to try/use tvheadend but would need to have the sat dish working.
