All channels found, some can not be played
Added by Lifelogger - over 11 years ago
Hi,
I have a strange issue here. Have Tvheadend 3.5.201 build running on my Synology NAS. Have a HDHomerun attached to my network. TVHeadend can find all channels from my provider (UPC Netherlands). Everything go's fine so far.
As soon as I want to play some channels some work, some don't. It's really strange. For about 40% of the channels it can find EPG data and play those channels. For the other channels, except for the channel names, it can find no EPG data and can't also play it in XBMC. In XBMC I get the message "no service enabled". Been struggling with this for days now and have no clue on what to do.
If I use the .strm files generated by my HDHomerun I can see the channels and play them with no problems at all.
Who can help me out here?

I'm experiencing similar problems with Get in Norway (previously owned by UPC) with recent builds.
Tvheadend lists a lot of services on wrong mux, in addition to the correct mux. Because of this, lots of services are listed twice. Hence, only one of those services actually works.
Example:
Mux1 actually contains:
MTV
Eurosport
Mux2 actually contains:
Discovery
History channel
But tvheadend could list them like this:
Mux1:
MTV
Eurosport
Discovery
History channels
Mux2:
Discovery
History channel
Tvheadend lists Discovery and History channel on both muxes, but ofc they do not work on mux1 as they are actually on mux2.
When using an older build of Tvheadend (currently using one from 31/12/2012), it works as it should, with all services found on the correct mux.
I hope this explains my problem in a way that is understandable. Could this be the same problem you are experiencing?

Hmmmm, wel I don't have the channels double. I have them only once.
Strange thing is that tonight I tested an other PVR Addon and switched back to TVHead front. Suddenly the channels were mapped wrong, but TVHeaded played the channels that I normally can not play through the add-on. As soon as I wipe the TV Database, it stops working again. So, it's defiantly not my tuner (that I already knew). It's defiantly something in the software that is not going ok.
I wish I could test it with an older version. However, I have to run it on my NAS and don't know how to compile a package myself. Guess I have to look for an alternative or just hope the problem will be fixed soon.

Oh, I see.
Have you tried the version that synocommunity provides (3.2~git20121012-1) ?

Yes, that is the first one I tried. But that version has a bug. Because of the bug it does not find all channels. With the HTS Tvheadend 3.5.201~g2a9ccdd-dirty version it finds all the channels that are missing in version 3.2 from Synocommunity, but can not play them now. :-)

Ok, issue is resolved.
I forgot to add a network ID that my cable provider uses in my region. Removed all muxes and added the networkchannel. Did a new scan and now it all works.
Still have no clue why it did play some channels before and some not without the network id.
