Picture quality, can it vary depending on hardware?

Added by Magnus Ottosson over 11 years ago

Hi,

I have a Anysee E7 S2 DVB-S2 usb card setup with tvheadend and I use xbmc as frontend. I feel like the picture quality is not near as good as it is with my standard set top box (sagem) I got from Canal Digital.

Could it be that this dvb-s2 card delivers a video feed with lower quality than the set top box?

I also get these weired vertical lines in fast action sequences. Any ideas on how to fix that?

The problem won't be with the tuner card (it's digital TV - so tuners either work and give a perfect signal, or they don't, and you get either no picture, or lots of break-up).

The problem will be with the hardware you are using to play the video on - i.e. your video card. These may not be the best forums to get help with that - perhaps the xbmc forums would be better.
