Incorrect channel scanned
Added by Dan Burt over 11 years ago
I did nothing other than install, add new DVB-S adapters, etc, and let TvHeadend do a scan for me, and it looks like Sky Sports 3 is tuned to Sky Sports 1. The Sky Sports 3 HD channel is correct though.
How do I fix this please?

researching this a bit more, and i think there have been some recent changes to the Mux layouts...
according to the following page, scrolling down to frequency 12110.00 H, the last column indicates updates around 27th Jan 2013:
http://en.kingofsat.net/tv-28.2E.php
This would tie in with when I started to use this service, and wondering why this might be that some channels are incorrectly assigned. Also spotted that Sky Sports 2 (SD) also does not playback.
Can I amend the config somewhere or how to fix this? Or do I need to update some other file(s) to fix it?
Looking at /home/hts/.hts/tvheadend/dvbtransports, there are 4 files containing channels for Sky Sports 3 (SD) on my setup. This matches up to the tvheadend web interface, listing 4 entries on the "Services" Config tab. Only 1 (the second listed) is accurate.
Can I simply delete the others? What impact will this have?
Can I force it to use only the second entry / file, as this seems correct?

Yeah I noticed this on my own setup, SS 3 HD appears to carry SS 1 HD (I
think SS 4 HD is also affected, though I don't think my SD services are,
but then I manually mapped things).
But you can do several things to recover the situation, but probably the
simplest is just to disable the suspect services (i.e. those not containing
the right/any stream). You can also just un-map the services from teh
channels, but if your channel names are just teh service name it might
re-map them automatically.

Thanks Adam
Is your setup able to playback SS2 (SD)? This seems to be the only channel I cannot fix, through the methods we have discussed above...

Yes, I believe so, though I've not watched much sport recently and my media box has gone bang so I've little way to check at the moment.
I'm pretty sure I did a quick check though and all SS SD services were OK. If it helps I believe I'm using SID 5505 on 12207.
