installation / removal issues

Added by Steven Bratton almost 12 years ago

Hi I've got a problem with tvheadend package management on Linux Mint Debian Edition.

Somewhere along the lines I've messed up an install, compiled from source and then install with XBMC.
the problem is locking up part of my package management system and I constantly get an error when trying to update my system.

Installed verion: 3.2.18-g40a8920-precise
Latest version : 3.2.34-gfaee94b-precise

Please can you look through the synaptic log below and let me know how I should proceed to remove and reinstall. or install over the top to resolve the problem.
I get the same error 100 when I try to remove tvheadend and so I'm stuck and can't progress forwards.
I've tried the -force argument in the command line but this still doesn't allow removal or installation.

I guess from the logs its something to do with one of the install/removal scripts not knowing where tvheadend is due to me playing with compile and package management ways of getting this installed.

Thanks for any help you can offer - please see below for error msg.

I tried following some of the advice in the url below but this still ave errors during attempted removal and reinstallation using synaptic.
I deleted all tvheadend packages at /var/lib/info/tvheadend*

Any other ideas
