TVHeadend 20.6.2 Search: Start Date & End Date Kodi 20.2 under Windows

Added by Arthur Scroggins about 1 year ago

Using TVHeadend I can go into the search form and am presented with the dates eg 2023-09-07 and 2023-09-12. I alter Genre to Movies/Drama and clear the Start Time and End Time fields, click the Search button and am told there are no results. Go back to edit the search and the date fields have both been set to 1601-01-01.

If I leave the time fields set at their defaul all is well.

Running on RPi or my Dell Optiplex running LibreElec I do not get this problem.

You’ll need to supply further details on what TVH version you are using, what version front end you are using etc. where you are experiencing this problem. Sounds more like a Kodi issue and not TVH.

Quite willing to supply more details if you can tell me what you want and where to get it. All I know is in the title.

I have asked on the Kodi forums but no response and I have no idea who is the author of the search form.

Firstly what hardware you’re using, what version of OS, what tuner, what Kodi version. Lay it all out clearly for everyone to see so we don’t need to keep asking questions.

If you’ve managed to create a setup for Kodi/TVH you should easily be able to establish what version of each element of your setup you’re using. A simple Google search will tell you how.

I could easily supply those details but first can you confirm that TVH is responsible for the search form or if it is Kodi that maintains it?

Err, you seem to be missing the point. Without the details being asked for, Jonas and others can't begin to answer your questions. You're the one asking for help, so please help us to help you.

With the information given so far, this really seems like a Kodi issue.

Kodi maintains an EPG cache in a local SQL database so it does not really need to go to TVH to do any searching. Also, "1601-01-01" seems to be some sort of epoch date within Windows, so this would be the expected value for a date field erroneously set to zero.

I had a quick look in the Kodi issues register on GitHub and I could not find any reference.

You could try installing a pre-release version of Kodi and see if that fixes the issue.

Just be careful because pre-release versions may not be 100% stable in all areas.

If the issue still occurs, I think that the best way to get the attention of 'Team Kodi' would be to lodge an 'issue' on GitHub.

https://github.com/xbmc/xbmc/issues

You need to be careful because there is a set template requiring specific information and your issue will be rejected if it is not presented in the correct format.

Delta Mike Charlie thank you for that. The first line give me the information I needed, the rest is interesting and helpful in pointing me in the right direction should I decide to pursue a fix.
