Feedback needed. Enigma2 input? Switching from SAT>IP...

Added by Lili S over 2 years ago

Hi everyone,

I've been reliably using a couple of HDHomeRun devices for year now for DVB-T / DVB-C signals with nothing but success.
It's unfortunate that they never released a DVB-S2 tuner, which would probably be more reliable that anything I've had so far.

After one of my SAT>IP servers died a few months ago (Inverto 400s), the last one seems to be gone now too (DSi 400 GSS.box).
Because I'm running TVHeadend on a Synology NAS, I'm very limited in terms of USB drivers, so I do need a network tuner somehow.

Because I don't need another SAT>IP tuner dying on me, I was thinking of just running a Vu+/Enigma2 box on my network and feed it to TVH via the IPTV Auto Network.
I believe this should work (hopefully smoothly), but I was wondering if you guys is running that type of setup currently and how well it's working?

Cheers,

Hello Lili,

I don't know what is: "the IPTV Auto Network" but I have minisatip running on OpenATV on a ZGemmaH7S which has 1 x DVB-T/DVB-C Tuner and two DVB-S2 tuners.

The tuners appear in the Adapters Tab in TVHeadend where I can scan for channels just fine. It's running stable.

I feel the problem is moreso, as you might have noticed yourself, that TVHeadend is dying a death with almost zero support being offered anymore.
