IPTV multiple sources per channel?
Added by Chris G almost 3 years ago
Are there any standards either in the m3u format or in TVH that allows users to map multiple sources to a single channel on the m3u side?
I am not talking about mapping multiple m3u channels to a single channel inside TVH.

In TVHeadend, you can achieve the mapping of multiple sources to a single channel by utilizing the channel tags feature. Channel tags allow you to group multiple sources together under a single logical channel. Each source within the channel can have its own URL and associated parameters.
To set up multiple sources for a single channel in TVHeadend, you can follow these general steps:
1. Access the TVHeadend web interface.
2. Go to the "Configuration" tab.
3. Select "Channel / EPG" from the sidebar.
4. Click on the channel you want to modify or create a new one.
5. Under the "Channel details" section, you should see an option for "Tags" or "Channel tags."
6. Add a unique tag name for the channel. For example, you could use a tag like "multisource" or any other identifier you prefer.
7. Save the changes.
Once you have assigned a tag to the channel, you can then add multiple sources to that tag. Each source can have its own URL and other relevant parameters. This allows TVHeadend to treat all the sources with the same tag as a single logical channel.
