RPI 4 + tv hat
Added by Mirko J. about 3 years ago
Hi everyone,
I would love to record 24/7 whole year long one mux. with all channels on (max. Bitrate is 27.30 Mbps).
I think that 8TB for a month would be enough or what you think?
Can I save the EPG too? after record how to search the footage?
how to set it up?
does anyone record 24/7?
tnx for all hints and answers

I record pretty much some channels all the time. The way is to setup a AutoRec with name. Title is empty. Select the channel and done. It will record everything that comes in.
How big a drive? That is up to you. Record a show and see how big the file is. Then do some multiplication to get the size over x days. It should be based on the channel and not on some max bit rate.
I did do some 24/7 recording in 2018 for a few weeks. I found that after about 24 hours, the recording terminated. It could be the provider or TVH. Not really sure, but you may run into some limitation to the 24/7 recordings. I remember fixing it by not recording a show in the middle of the night.
