VPN HTSP Connection Broken Pipe (4.3-1967~geb59284b8)
Added by Seriously No over 3 years ago
Hello,
Thank you all for your hard work. I am using the TVHeadend Version 4.3-1967~geb59284b8 with SATIP (Digibit R1) and a VPN Connection to stream the Channels to my Mobile Phone. In the past I used the TVHeadend Version 4.2.8 and everything worked fine but with the new Setup I face the problem that each time I am connecting over VPN to the Server the Subscription is continously Connecting/Disconnecting:
2021-07-16 15:31:33.209 htsp: Got connection from 192.168.8.2 2021-07-16 15:31:33.255 htsp: 192.168.8.2: Welcomed client software: Kodi Media Center (HTSPv34) 2021-07-16 15:31:33.405 htsp: 192.168.8.2 [ Kodi Media Center ]: Identified as user 'vpn' 2021-07-16 15:31:33.405 htsp: 192.168.8.2 [ vpn | Kodi Media Center ]: Privileges updated 2021-07-16 15:31:33.575 mpegts: 11836.5H in DVB-S Network - tuning on SAT>IP DVB-S Tuner #1 (192.168.1.113@UDP) 2021-07-16 15:31:33.575 subscription: 0010: "192.168.8.2 [ vpn | Kodi Media Center ]" subscribing on channel "WDR", weight: 100, adapter: "SAT>IP DVB-S Tuner #1 (192.168.1.113@UDP)", network: "DVB-S Network", mux: "11836.5H", provider: "ARD", service: "WDR Köln", profile="vpn", hostname="192.168.8.2", username="vpn", client="Kodi Media Center" 2021-07-16 15:31:33.596 transcode: 0010: 01:MPEG2VIDEO: ==> Using profile VPNStream 2021-07-16 15:31:33.596 transcode: 0010: 02:MPEG2AUDIO: ==> Copy 2021-07-16 15:31:33.596 transcode: 0010: 03:MPEG2AUDIO: ==> Copy 2021-07-16 15:31:33.596 transcode: 0010: 05:DVBSUB: ==> Filtered out 2021-07-16 15:31:38.543 htsp: 192.168.8.2 [ vpn | Kodi Media Center ]: Disconnected 2021-07-16 15:31:38.543 subscription: 0010: "192.168.8.2 [ vpn | Kodi Media Center ]" unsubscribing from "WDR", hostname="192.168.8.2", username="vpn", client="Kodi Media Center" 2021-07-16 15:31:38.544 htsp: 192.168.8.2 [ vpn | Kodi Media Center ]: Write error -- Datenübergabe unterbrochen (broken pipe)
Would be nice if you have any hint what could be the problem. Thank you very much!

Explain more detailed how you transcode profile.
Recommended codecs for low bandwidth:
H264/VP8 for video
AAC/OGG for audio

Thank you very much for your Support! You can find details about my Transcoding in the attached Image. There is no Bandwith Problem. The Problem seems to be with the continous Connection/Disconnection. The WebIf always changes between Testing and Running and in the Log I can see the Problem with the Broken Pipe. As I already described in the previous Thread. With the Tvheadend 4.2.8 I have no problem at all. Is there any possibility to Debug this problem in detail?
Thank you very much for your Help!

Is your MTU set correctly for the VPN connection?

I have played around a little bit and I am using now the SW Encoding. With the following settings the Transcoding runs fine. Do you think there is a problem with HW Transcoding over VPN?
Thank you!

It's very unuseful when not say all informaion.
Nowhere in you question you dont say that you use hardware transcoding.
No info for system, hardware and OS with make harder to answer.
(we are not in same room with you to see what you have and see)
Try to change from 500k to 768k
and also H264 not h265
resolution from 720 to 576
swith matrioshka container to mpeg-ts
It's strange that intel driver show v1.6.0 not v2.1.0 version.
