Synology (Xpenology) NAS using TvHeadend /w Terratec Dual DVB-S2 PCIe

Added by e hz over 3 years ago

Hi,

I am kinda stuck and could need some hints to make progress with setting up TvHeadend on Synology NAS 6.2.

ls /dev/dvb/ --> empty
dmesg | grep dvb --> empty as well
kernel version: 3.10.102

Already tried different things and would really like to try this one, as my card is a clone of Tevii s480: https://www.linuxtv.org/wiki/index.php/TeVii_S480

But as it seems I can't reproduce those steps, as the make command is not available for DSM 6.2. There its stated, that those drivers should natively be supported from kernel 2.6.39 upwards. I also placed the firmware under /lib/firmware/.

Are there any workarounds possible to get this card running? I got docker and virtualbox running as well and could also move tvheadend there, but when the card is not configured in the host OS it won't work in the virtualization right?

Any hints and tips are appreciated

Maby is missing media tree in kernel.
What say dvb-fe-tool

Hmm this command is not available:

x:~$ dvb-fe-tool
-sh: dvb-fe-tool: command not found

And I am not sure how to install it on the NAS, as apt-get etc. is not available.
