Debian Stable, Ubuntu LTS and more
Added by Narcis Garcia almost 4 years ago
At Kodi project they talk about Ubuntu as their most supported distro. Then I'm installing Ubuntu 20.10 to have Kodi and DVB watching in a single box.
I've tried succesfully VDR service to watch TV, but it does not allow pause, continue and some other feature. Then I see Tvheadend features but not being built for current Ubuntu releases.
Is this project alive?

Ubuntu 12 is not a current release, current release is Ubuntu 20.10. So you should consider replacing that 7 year out-of-support (and 9 year old) system with something more recent.
An (open source) project is only alive if there are developers who contribute to it. So it is up to you (and others) if this project is alive or not. If you submit PRs they will be reviewed and merged, so it can be considered alive I guess.

Typo mistake; fixed version.
I'm afraid I can't contribute in code development.

Maybe PPA help? https://launchpad.net/~mamarley/+archive/ubuntu/tvheadend-git
Not hard to compile own deb package from git repo too. Labelled as unstable version but really rock solid and bullet proof.
Timeshift with Kodi hts pvr addon works perfectly. I recommend configuring TVH to use RAM for Timeshift if possible.
