TBS6904 Can't get Unicable 1 to work
Added by R Maxwell almost 4 years ago
After the advice here, Ive change my card to a TBS6904 which I have working
Im now trying to change this to use unicable with little success.
Ive never used Unicable, Ive read some posts here so It seems I need to know
1. the SCR
2. the Pin
3. The Frequency
and then there is an option for NEtwork A and Network B which Im not sure about. so Ive put the working network from my normal input for these.
When I try and connect to a channel from Kodi I get this message

Im including some images
Ive asked Inverto for some info, Im assuming the Pins are empty though I did try with the ones from someone elses post.
Is there something special additional that needs to be done for unicable ?
Update : Ive tried the card in windows 10 and can get it to work on unicable but still no luck at all in TVHeadEnd

Ok, I have had a little success and will document it for others. The card/driver seems unreliable but I am trying to understand why. I put DVB-S2 network in Network A and then added it to Network B and tried to access channels in Kodi and then it started working. It doesnt help that the signal strength seems very week compared with other cards or my Humax sat box where the strength is 100%. Im not sure it would have scanned the muxes, but I had them setup from the normal Universal LNB setting.
I have left the "working" setup on a spare drive and am installing a fresh copy of Debian 10 from scratch today. Im going to first try compiling the TBS code from github as per their instructions to create the modules, and see how well that does.
For anyone wanting to know how to setup for unicable, the previous screens did work. You need an SCR number, the Frequency, and the Pin ( mine is blank ) for each tuner so they all talk to LNB on different frequencies. Unicable 1 supports 8 and Unicable 32 SCR (frequencies ). There didnt seem to be any other settings required.
