Setting timeshift max period not working

Added by Angelo S about 4 years ago

Hi all,

I have a problem with "ghost users" which use always an adapter.
Szenario: User is watching in Kodi on Android Tv... Then he presses the homebutton, Kodi will continue (with timeshift) in background but nobody is watching.
Then I thought, there is a setting "Maximum period (mins)" which would change my problem - unfortunately not.
I tried "Maximum period (mins)" with 1-15min, timeshit is not getting stopped.
Even "on-demand (no first rewind)" doesn't make any difference, altought i don't know what happening at leaving the App...
After changing a stetting, I always restartet Server & Client to be sure.
In logs I canno't see something special. Even timeshift/config looks normal.

Does somebody has any idea? Can someone reproduce this?

My setup:

- Ubuntu 18.04 LTS
- HTS Tvheadend 4.2.8-36~g5bdcfd8ac
- Windows: Kodi 18.3 - TVh 4.4.21
- Android: Kodi 18.8 - TVh 4.4.21

Thanks in advance!
Angelo

Problem is with client not server.
Server do what is expected to do.
Contact to developer of app used on Android TV, to implement "Stream Stop" function, when app is in background.
TVH server cannot do that, TVH server stream until client ask for this and not interrupt this until client stop it.

Thanks for you reply.
Ok, i try to contact the developers...
What about the "maximum period"? Even in VLC the recording still continues.

Until client is connected and request stream, all is normal for server.
