USB sound cards for RPi and LibreELEC

Added by EthanElijah EthanElijah over 4 years ago

My RPi 4 4GB running Kodi on LibreELEC has some major audio problems. Most noticeable are pops and crackling when no audio plays. Additionally there is an annoying noise in the background - both when playing sound and when not. Overall, the audio quality is much lower than compared to my PC that has an ALC 1220 audio chip.

Our setup is comprised of old DJ gear; namely an amp by auna, a mixer by reloop, and stereo drivers by Teufel. The files are AAC 5.1 384Kbps or AAC 2.0 160Kbps. This is just to illustrate omegle xender the problem really lies with the RPi not the equipment or source material.

Are USB sound cards as plug and play with LibreELEC as with any other OS? Are there any you can recommend? I don't want to go out and buy multiple from Amazon to test them and send them back as "not working" - that's kind of an arsehole thing to do to the environment.

Cheers, and thanks for your help.

This question is for RPI support.
No IRQ support, no separated powering, you see result.

As Saen says, this seems to have nothing to do with TVH and everything to do with the Pi. A quick search for raspberry pi audio throws up several interesting links to start from.
