Picon Help

Added by Lisa White over 4 years ago

Hi guys. I am almost down setting up my new system, but I have ran into a snag. This is not my first rodeo setting up tvheadend and I am familiar with how it functions. My new setup is using ubuntu and I have everything working with muxes and epg. The problem I am having is loading my own picons from my system into tvheadend. I have done routine many of times before but for some reason I cannot get this going with 4.3-1857 version. If I insert a web url into the user channel icon field, that icon will appear in kodi. When I enter my file path it will not work. I did chmod 777 permission to the icon folder.

Can anyone shed some light onto a solution? This is how I set this up:

1. Prefer picons over channel icons: (unchecked)
2. Channel icon path: (blank, did not work) (also tried with: file:///home/hts/picons/
3.Channel icon name scheme: (blank)
4. Picon path: file:///home/hts/picons/ (did not work)
5. Picon name scheme: standard

(With these configurations, I entered: File:///home/hts/abc.png within the tvheadend channel number icon and it will not appear.)

I have done this routine many of times before and it worked great but not with this version of tvheadend for some reason. I cannot find a solution and your input is appreciated.

Thanks
Lisa

I plugged in my old drive that had 4.2.8-36 stable installed and the above settings were correct. The picons appeared and I could change them to whatever I had chosen. I think there is a something that is missing from the 4.3-1857~g221c29b40 that allows this routine. Can someone look at 4.3-1857~g221c29b40 and correct the change? This is beyond my capabilities and I would not know where to begin.

Thank you,
Lisa

picons do not contin chanel name
they are named by channel parameters ex:

1_0_1_1_3_1_186B0C2_0_0_0.png

logos must be with exact name
and url must be
http:// or file :// /path/%c.png

Yes I understand that. I have the names of logos that are stored on my drive correct and the paths are correct but they still will not work with the 4.3 version and appear. I had the same paths and logo set up on the 4.2 version and all is well. I think there is a bug in the 4.3 version. My path is set as: File:///home/hts/icons/abc.png. This particular path is linked to the abc channel.
