No input source available for subscription

Added by Lis Mikita almost 5 years ago

Hello,

Newbie question here so apologies in advance if I'm missing something obvious.

TVHeadend is 4.2.8 running on a Raspberry Pi 3 B+ Buster OS, with OSMC on top.

I get the red circle with the exclamation mark when trying to record programs and the "No input source available for subscription" error in the logs. There doesn't seem to be a pattern in terms of what programs and/or channels work and which don't. Appears random at the moment.
Gui

Any help appreciated

Guess basic misunderstanding of technology.
1 tuner can tune to 1 frequency and use services on it.
If needed new service on another frequency "busy" message come.
Same is with iptv provider with only one stream at time.

See status tab for more information.

Thanks saen acro.

Not quite sure I understand...so my Tvhat tuner can only record one channel at a time? Indicated by the subs number 1 under status below? I have been able to record multiple programs simultaneously....

See subscriptions tab.
1 tuner can record all services on this frequency (on picture 690mhz)
there can be few tv an radio services.
You can record an watch whatever is broadcasted on this frequency, but if need second one, take second tuner or better dual tuner.

See configuration>dvb input>services (sorted by MUX and from drop-down menu sorted in groups)

Equal situation on TV, you can watch PiP only on channels on same frequency (transponder/mux) or on another input (AV/SVideo/Scart/HDMI).

Ok, I think I get it.

So you can record multiple channels provided they are on the same mux?

And this is because a single tuner can record only on one frequency at a time?

Just as a matter of interest how do Humax dual tuner DVR boxes manage to record channels from totally different muxes simultaneously?

Key word "DUAL"
aka have TWO tuners.
There is also QUAD and OCTO also 12tuner solutions.
