Trouble scanning muxes

Added by Phil King over 13 years ago

I've just set up a new ubuntu system (Zotac ZBox) with XBMC-PVR and TVHeadend. I have a HDHomerun on the network. Everything seems to be working correctly except I'm having trouble getting an EPG to load. I set up XML TV to grab from Schedules Direct and configed it use my local OTA lineup. It finds 59 channels. I added the DVB Network by location (NA ATSC in my case) to both tuners. It found muxes, scanned them, and once they dropped to 0 waiting I mapped the services to channels. After all that, no EPG. I then deleted all the muxes on both tuners and repeated the process. Now it just sits with all 68 muxes waiting initial scan.

How do I get TVHeadend to rescan the muxes and find services. I rebooted the computer but it didn't help. Apparently I've screwed something up. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Delete all muxes as well and repeat adding networks to your adapters.

As I mentioned above, I deleted the mixes and retried several times. I also tried readding the networks and still no joy. I like the idea of this product, but for now have abandoned it and went another direction.

I am stuck at this same scenario as well. TVheadend finds the muxes and i let it drop to 0 but when i try to "Map DVB services to channels" it does nothing. Using HDhomerun config gui i am able to see the channels (VLC) but tvheadend never displays any channels. Any other options anyone can suggest? Thanks in advance.

Are you running the latest version of tvheadend from git? Are you using the tool to present the hdhomerunner adapters as dvb devices?

I got the latest Git version running (d66746c) but now i have a new problem. When scanning the muxes it gets to 24 and it just sits there. I've left it for 3 hours and it still at the same place. I have tried erasing the hts folder and scanning again, but i still get the same result.

Yes i am using dvb_hdhomerun so it lists my device and i have them set as ATSC. Thanks for you input btw.

I am having the same issue stuck on 24 muxes to be scanned, for 24 hrs.

Any ideas!!!

This same behavior is happening to me. Zotac ZBOX, OpenElec with TVHeadend 2.1.6. Although, it looks like the version doesn't matter. It craps out around 999000000 in the frequency. I'm guessing this has to do with what's been allocated... since most PVR software is written for countries other than the US, is it possible that QAM-256 frequencies exceed those used for DVB? I'm just taking a shot in the dark.

I'm watching the debug log, but it's given up. I have 24 muxes left to scan, so there's no chance I'll ever get to 0 and complete. Without completion, I'm not going to get to map these services to channels. That pretty much disqualifies me from getting to use this software.
