Log file for missing packets / stream errors?

Added by Allan Lee over 5 years ago

In Windows platform using DVBViewer / DVBViewer Media Server to record DVB, a log file can be created during the recording process for errors, for example:

0:25:01 / 00:00:00 (~ 0.00 MB) Start Recording
0:25:03 / 00:00:01 (~ 0.86 MB) PID 220: H.264 Video, 16:9, 1920x1088, 25 fps
0:25:03 / 00:00:01 (~ 0.86 MB) PID 230: LATM AAC Audio 5.1, 24 khz, 141 kbps
0:25:03 / 00:00:01 (~ 0.86 MB) PID 231: LATM AAC Audio Stereo, 24 khz, 69 kbps
0:25:19 / 00:00:17 (~ 15.86 MB) PID 242: DVB Subtitles
0:25:19 / 00:00:17 (~ 15.86 MB) PID 245: DVB Subtitles
0:25:20 / 00:00:18 (~ 16.80 MB) PID 246: DVB Subtitles
1:29:47 / 01:04:45 (~ 3600.10 MB) Errors: 3
1:29:53 / 01:04:51 (~ 3605.27 MB) Errors: 3

2:20:00 / 01:54:58 (~ 6390.90 MB) Stop

Average Data Rate: 0.926 MB/s
Total Size: 6390.9 MB (6701342156 Bytes)

I understand in the "Finished Recordings" tab the total numbers of errors could be found, but is there a similar function in Tvheadend to show the location of missing TS packets?

Thank you!

Hi Allan,

if I've understood your question correctly, what you need is in the 'Debugging' tab in the web interface.

You can define a log file and specifiy the subsystem(s) to debug, using a comma-separated list for multiple subsystems.

The help page gives a list of the subsystems you can debug against.

Note that those settings won't survive a restart.

Hope that helps, and apologies if I misunderstood the question!
