finding old recordings?

Added by Jim Abernathy over 5 years ago

I have a TVH system on a RP3B+ using LibreELEC. It works find recording over the air programs using a HDHR. This system is in an RV so when we move to a new location I have to set it up again.

The only way I've found to do this is to start the Wizard again. This gets the job done and finds all the new channels. But previous recordings are not showing up. I can find them under Videos by using it's file tabs, but I'd like them to stay in the TV section under recordings. Is that possible?

Does anyone know why previous recordings in the recording directory specified on the configuration tab are not found? only new recordings show up. But if you ssh into libreelec you can see them in that directory.

Any help would be appreciated.

I guess the wizard wipes out the dvr/log directory? (Where all the info for recordings is stored.)
Tvheadend does not scan the recording directory for recordings, it does the opposite - it reads info for each recording from the dvr/log directory then checks if the file exists.

You might have some old recordings saved in the backup directory?? (/home/hts/.hts/tvheadend/backup/)

You may look at this thread to see about "importing" the recordings back into the configuration.

In the future, I would not use the wizard to reconfigure your system, probably better to learn how to manually make the changes you need.

You could also make a "feature request" to ask that the wizard does not wipe out the dvr/log files. Or at least backs up the old configuration before wiping it out (if it does not already do that...)
