Using EPG from different channel (EPG broadcasted with SD channel but want to only use HD Channel)

Added by John Andrews almost 13 years ago

Hi,

Not sure how common this is, but in new zealand sky broadcasts a HD feed of some channels, but the HD feed has only now and next guide data and the complete guide data is only in the SD feed. eg Sky Movies and Sky Movies HD etc.

so i want to map the EPG from the SD channel to the HD channel and disable the SD feed.

I tried merging the HD feed to the SD feed and disabling the SD feed, which seemed to work fine, but now the EPG has run out (i did this about a week ago) and it doesnt seem to be updating those feeds.

Is there anyway i can achieve this?

When you are selecting the TVXml source (config->channels->tvxml source column) you are selecting whatever you epg data you want to use for that station. No merging required.

hi,
im not using an xmltv source, but rather reading the epg data from the satellite feed, ie i have no xmltv file.

so would like to map the EPG data from one channel to another channel (full epg on the SD channel mapped to the HD channel which only has now and next guide data).

i tried enabling the SD channels on one tuner (i have a quad tuner) which filled the EPG, but it uses the SD feed for those channels when on that tuner.
