TVH seems to suddenly push PVR timer changes to all Kodi clients in an endless loop

Added by Marco Jakobs about 6 years ago

Hi,

something "happened" to my TVH server yesterday. I was suddenly not able to use any of my Kodi clients in my home, regardless if they were Version 17.6 or older V16 Kodi's. On "weaker" devices like my Raspi 2 or the Apple TV (MrMc) the clients are crashing around a minute after they contacted my TVH server. Kodi on PC's or my MacBook are not crashing, but getting extremely slow.

The symptom is the same with all clients: They are showing messages that PVR timers are deleted and re-added in an endless loop and in high speed! On PC clients which are not crashing, these permanent PVR timer messages are still continuing after 30 minutes.

A temporary workaround is to disable the "async EPG transfer" on all clients - but that did work perfect in the last years.

The fact that all my Kodi's are suffering this exactly since yesterday makes me pointing to the server. It seems that TVH went crazy and is suddenly "pushing" the clients to death with PVR timer messages when the async EPG transfer is disabled.

The TVH version was not changed in the last weeks (4.3-1480). A TVH restart does not solve the issue. Is there any kind of cache etc. which might went mad or something I can reset (without loosing my timers which are all shown well in the TVH web interface)?

From where do you get your EPG? Is it over the air or via xmltv?

Perhaps temporarily try disabling all your epg grabbers and see if you still have a problem. It could be that two OTA grabbers are sending conflicting info?
