BBC ONE HD EPG on Freesat
Added by Nick Sillito about 6 years ago
Has anyone else got an issue with the BBC HD stations? They used to work fine until about a week ago, and then I stopped been able to watch them
Im using a TRIAX SAT-IP tuner and running tvheadend 4.2.6-96 on Ubuntu 18.04.
About a week ago, i found that I couldn't tune into BBC One HD, so I tried retuning. In my Config > DVB input > Services I have 4 channels listed as BBC ONE HD. I have tired mapping each of them in turn. One of them seems to do nothing. Two of them I can watch BBC ONE HD on, but I dont get anything in the OTA EPG (other than now and next), and one of the I can't watch, but it does populate the full EPG.
I cant be precise as I dont watch BBC that much, but it happen roughly around the time when the BBC changed some of their broadcast frequencies.
Has anyone else had this issue? and is there a solution other than using XMLTV for the EPG?

Same issue here, though I only noticed today and haven't yet experimented as much as you have. No BBC One HD, Two HD, or Four HD: no OTA EPG and can't watch the channels.
Using a TBS6981 and running tvheadend 4.2.1-29~g21c97e1 on Debian 8.

It's an interesting one, I actually have two 10847V muxes, Both seem to work fine, only difference between them is FEC - new one appears to be 3/4, old is 2/3, tried bumping those?

I've got three 10847V muxes listed. Two have got scan result "fail" and on (the one with FEC 3/4) is "ok". What do you mean by "bumping those". Are you saying that i should disable them?

No, update the FEC of the mux you have services mapped from - play the mux afterwards to rescan it.

Did you ever solve this problem? I've got BBC One and Two HD working, but still can't resolve my EPG issues.

I've had no joy with this so far. Like you, I can watch BBC One, Two ec, but the EPG doesn't populate. I've been busy for a couple of days so I haven't tested Mark's solution yet. Disabling the old mux didnt work.

I am just testing this now, and on first look, it appears to work (thanks Mark!)

I've sorted mine out, by the brutal method of deleting all the BBC One/Two/etc HD services and channels, deleting the 10847V mux with the outdated FEC, and setting the good 10847V mux to Scan Status ACTIVE to get it to rescan. Then remapping the resulting services, choosing which ones to map using the listing at <https://en.kingofsat.net/tp.php?tp=508> — i.e., choosing the ones with 694x service IDs.
And then the same exercise with the 11023.25H mux to get BBC Four HD et al working again.
It takes a while for the EPG to get around to repopulating…
Probably there was no need to delete the channels, and that of course had the unfortunate side-effect of nuking any autorecs on those channels.
Thanks all for the hints!

Mark -- editing the FEC to 3/4 seems to work --thank you!
For anyone else reading, there are a range of muxes you have to update (for example 11.02325 GHz Horizontal) if you're interested in BBC 4 HD or BBC NEWS HD
The BBC publish list of the muxes here

Another option would be to mass-edit the muxes and change FEC to AUTO, it'll be updated on next tune!
