Can't log-in
Added by Bill Sherwood over 6 years ago
Hi there.
I'm having huge troubles with my LibreElec box. No matter what I try it refuses to join the network to this PC, where all my media files are kept.
Nothing is working there so I decided to try to get TVheadend working. I've added the front and back ends and when I try to get access to it via my browser it asks for a user name & password to long-in. I have not set either of those and I have tried a few different combinations. Nothing works.
So can someone please help me fix this so at least I can watch the telly on that damn box.
Yes I've read the FAQ - https://tvheadend.org/projects/tvheadend/wiki/Faq - It's useless.

Hello, you can restart tvheadend with the "-C" parameter then connect to the webinterface with no login.
First you have to kill tvheadend from memory with sudo privileges and start it again (tvheadend -C) you can create a new user/password

Sorry I've not see that you use tvheadend on a box :(
Are you able to browse files on your libreelec box with your pc ?
If you can the password is stored in /userdata/addon_data/service.tvheadend42/accesscontrole

SSH is a secured shell we can connect to it with a terminal client like putty or smartty. With these clients you can log into the system using the root login if it is activated in libreelec options. I will not be able to help you anymore my knowledge is very limited. I have rarely used libreelec but it seems to me that access options are available in kodi no ?
try to see the libreelec forum side.

Contact LebreElec forum.
Yes as I mentioned in my first post I did search for an answer.
No, the LE forum is useless as well.

I completely un-installed TVHE, and installed a slightly older version, so it'd be a fresh start.
It again asks me for passwords that I do not have.
So really, no mucking around, how the hell do I get this thing to work???

try this.
echo '{ "username": "temp_admin", "password": "password" } ' > /storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.multimedia.tvheadend/superuser
The folder [/storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/service.multimedia.tvheadend] must exist, if it doesn't find it using
cd /storage/.kodi/userdata/addon_data/
Once you've created the superuser file reboot the machine and try to login using the above info.

Okay I've done that, but I no idea about what to do about the superuser file.

Just did a complete re-install. So far it's going well, I've set up TVHE via the browser and ..... fingers crossed.
Edit - yep that's now working. Ta for all those that helped.
RE: Can't log-in - Added by Bill Sherwood over 6 years ago
After using it that first time, it's now not working again. I DID NOT CHANGE ANYTHING AT ALL. Not a thing.
I can log in via the browser and everything looks fine. No red ticks or anything.
Any suggestions please??
