New server setup
Added by Maughanorama Maughanorama over 6 years ago
Hi all.
My setup is kodi android box's everywhere and my debian server.
My plan is to have my iptv service and freeview HD fed into the tvheadend server and obvs the client on the droid boxs.
i also intend on using 3 rtl282u usb dvb dongles that i play with sdr for a while
My questions are :
How do i use all 3 dvb dongles? Do you have to assign mux or is it on a round robin baSes. I.e if one mux is recording and a viewer selects another mux would it auto use a free adaptor?
Also im assuming i can separate the dvb and iptv via channel groups ?
also if the dvb fails would it fall vack to an iptv channlel or is that kinder impossible?
Thanks in advance

These aren't able to receive DVB-T2 streams. Not unless the device also contains another demod like the panasonic.

You add muxes to a network, you assign the network to tuners (or not in the case of IPTV), you then assign services to channels.
When a stream is requested tvh will use the next free available tuner, or if the service is on the same mux as a stream already being sent elsewhere it'll grab the stream from the already-in-use tuner.

Yes.

You can do this, just map your IPTV services after your DVB services (to channels).
Thanks in advance

Nope, DVB-T2 is different to DVB-T, it requires a different demod to those used in DVB-T dongles.
Unless your device mentions, "Freeview HD" or "DVB-T2" then it won't pick up T2.
