Auto reboot server everyday Linux Newbie needing help
Added by chris jennings over 6 years ago
Hi. I have TVheadend installed on ubuntu server 16.04.4 LTS. Can anybody give me instructions on how to set it up to reboot every 24hrs at 03.00am. I am told I need to set up a cron job but I am a linux newbie and would be really grateful for a step by step guide.
Many thanks in advance

To setup a cronjob:
# crontab -e
Then to have it reboot at 03:00 daily, your entry would be:
0 3 * * * shutdown -r now
