Raspberry Pi alternative, to run TVHeadend.
Added by A L almost 7 years ago
Hello,
I have decided to swap my internal TV tuners for a SAT>IP device, which means that I no longer need to record to my server.
To save a bit of power and noise, I want to run TVH on a small ARM device, which I can plug a hard drive into for recording/streaming purposes. The device can just be left on 24/7.
For a number of reasons, a RPi seems a bit limited in its specs and I was wondering what else might be a better suited to the task.
Something like a Rock64 or Odroid XU-4?
Any pointers would be much appreciated.

These are great, it's just a shame they're so expensive compared to arm boards.

Totally agree - they look very promising but it is indeed a shame that they are so much more expensive than ARM alternatives.
There is not a lot of information available on them, either.
Do you have any idea what their energy usage is like?
