Hi there,

i´am struggling to understand how the EGA grabber works. I configured it correctly and i do have the EPG data, but he seems to continuously to download. From my logs: Jan 14 23:57:16 plexi tvheadend[6381]: message repeated 47 times: [ spawn: [Sun Jan 14 23:57:16 2018] downloading listings: 56%]

Basically this goes on for the last xx hours - do i still miss something in my config? I am running currently 4.2.5 stable... Thanks in advance for hints! Markus

Yes, the script is a bit ugly as it shows a new line on percent change, but does it start again after 100%?

What grabber do you have configured and how?

RE: continuous EPG download - Added by Markus S. almost 7 years ago

yes, it starts again, over and over again:

I installed the grabber as described in the wiki: enabled it in the GUI, changed the user to hts, ran tv_grab_eu_egon --configure, used it´s defaults and that was it.
Is there any cron or GUI setting with a to short period? I would assume it should run daily and maybe it´s set to every minute or every minute per channel or something?

RE: continuous EPG download - Added by Anders Gustafsson almost 7 years ago

Odd. Let me compare to mine tonight when I am home. My own sketchy notes are below:

dalton@tvburk:~/.hts/tvheadend> tv_grab_se_tvzon --configure
The file at this URL describes which channels are available and where data can be found for them.
Root URL for grabbing data: [http://xmltv.tvzon.se/xmltv/channels.xml.gz]
tv_grab_se_tvzon uses a cache with files that it has already downloaded. Please specify where the cache shall be stored.
Directory to store the cache in: [/home/dalton/.xmltv/cache]
Select the channels that you want to receive data for.
Blue Movie 1 [yes,no,all,none (default=no)] n
13th Street Germany [yes,no,all,none (default=no)] n
13th Street Netherlands [yes,no,all,none (default=no)] a

skapar en config.fil i /home/dalton/.xmltv/tv_grab_se_tvzon.conf

Edit to select what channels to include, change = to ! for disable

gedit /home/dalton/.xmltv/tv_grab_se_tvzon.conf

testaing: tv_grab_se_tvzon --days 2

RE: continuous EPG download - Added by Markus S. almost 7 years ago

well - same as i did just a different provider. Please don´t get me wrong: I do get the data, but i continuously get it instead of once a day or every 3rd day or whatever...

I have this for the internal grabber:

Cron multi-line:
  1. Default config (00:04 and 12:04 everyday)
    4 */12 * * *

Cron multi-line:
XMLTV Sweden (tvzon)

    (1-5/5)
