TBS 5530SE DVB-S
Added by Dave Travers almost 7 years ago
Hi All,
I purchased a TBS 5520SE and set it up no problems (Astra 28.2E, Ubuntu 16.04 + TVHeadend 4.2.5)
I then purchased a second one so I have 2 x DVB-S tuners.
Both tuners are detected but when I enable the second one they both stop working, wheni disable the second one the firs works fine.
My sat dish has a quad LNB and the both outputs work fine simultaneously (one to TVHeadend and one to my TV)
I have them both setup as Universal LNB
Logs when I try to tune withboth enabled:-

Do you use diseqc ?
How cables connected?
It need separate cable tuner -> LNB.

Hi Saen,
Thanks for the quick answer
Never configured anything on Diseqc but looking at the configuration "Tune before Diseqc" and "Full DiseqC:" are ticked and "DiseqC repeats" is set to 0.
1 cable from each output on the LNB to each tuner, so I have 2 LNB outputs used, one goes to each tuner.
interestingly after a reboot the sub item "Universal LNB only" has disappeared from the second tuner!

Yep, doing that now takes for ever with DVB-S though! (I'm used to DVB-T)
Can you confirm that both tuners are supposed to have the sub item "Universal LNB Only" or jut the one?
And can you confirm what a quad LNB doesn't class as a 4-port switch and if I need to use DiseqC
Dave

Your device (TBS) can have only one active input
Your lnb is equal to 4 separate single universal LNB's pointed to same sattelite
DiseqC can be used when you have multiple satellite positions

Thanks, that's what I thought, no need for DiseqC.
I have 2 of the tuners, so I should be able to watch 2 separate channels on 2 separate muxes simultaneously.
I've got the first tuner working fine again now, but my son is now watching Tv, so more experimenting later
