Padding ignored?

Added by Michael Bonny almost 7 years ago

Hi guys, thanks for creating/contributing to such an awesome platform.

I am having a small issue with padding that I just cant figure out, maybe its a bug, maybe I have something that is conflicting... I am just not sure.

I have set the 'pre' and 'post' padding the 'default profile' for Digital Video Recorder Profiles to:
Pre=5min
Post=20min
(Australian Free-to-Air) is terrible with running over time.

However it seems that this setting is ignored.
I have also tried overriding the profile by setting the values in the Autorec settings, with no luck.

Clients: KODI 17.1(Libreelec)
Server: Tvheadend 4.3-589~g7d0e509ba (Docker image on unRaid)

If you have "Use EPG running state" enabled - in the dvr profile - turn if off.

Also update your version v4.3.767 is the latest (at time of this msg).

RE: Padding ignored? - Added by Michael Bonny almost 7 years ago

Just updated docker to 4.3-734 (latest available within docker-unRaid).
"Use EPG running state" has been off, and stays off.

I just setup a new recording and will let you know the results in 1 hour or so.

Added: Offsiders
You can see from images, it seems to have applied the pre and post padding from the profile.

The resulting file is 35min long.

So the pre padding was added, but the recording stopped right on 12pm.

Is there some other setting that take precedence over the post padding?

Check the time on your box..

The time given via the webui is exactly right. NTP isnt configured in TVHeadend.

I guess that the app is inheriting the time from the docker host.

The time displayed in the webui is your browser time, not the server time. check the time on the host.

The docker host (unRaid) is configured with NTP and the time is right.
Also the recording started 5min early as per the pre padding config.

Ok, could you get a debug log & see if that outputs anything interesting?

You'll need to add "subscription, dvr, eit" to the debugging fields. Check the help in the debugging tab for the list of subsystems.

I have attached the log, could you take a look?

Does the programme really start at 14:22? O.o

Looks like EPG start time is 14:27 and -5min = 14:22

Need debug tbl-eit, not eit.

Also helpful if you post what the EPG says the start and stop times of the program are...

Yes, I just couldn't remember the subsystem name off the top of my head!

I can never remember either, that is why I had suggested this feature: [[http://tvheadend.org/issues/4232]] :)

RE: Padding ignored? - Added by Joe User almost 7 years ago

I tried a quick test and the post padding worked for me.

Is there any padding set for the channel itself?

Under "Digital Video Recorder"->"Upcoming/Current Recordings" does it show the padding in the scheduled start and scheduled stop times? (also in Finished recordings after?)

In "Upcoming/Current Recordings" and/or "Finished Recordings" does it show the correct DVR Configuration (profile)?

RE: Padding ignored? - Added by Michael Bonny almost 7 years ago

OK, I think I found it...

I have the pre and post values set in the Recordings Profile, and also set "Use EPG Running State" to off.

I noticed that each Channel had "Use EPG Running State" set to ON. (overriding the recording profile?)

I have changed the value to "not set" the Channel setting for "Use EPG Running State"

I have scheduled another recording and will report back.

Debug: subscription,dvr,tbl-eit
log to come.

Yes, this is the default behaviour. You can mass disable it for all your channels.

RE: Padding ignored? - Added by Michael Bonny almost 7 years ago

That was it.

each Channel had "Use EPG Running State" set to ON.

My file is 55min. (30min show + 5min-Pre + 20min-Post)
