Suggestions on SAT>IP Servers before buying
Added by J W almost 7 years ago
Hi all,
I'm planning on removing my PCI-E DVB-S2 cards in favour of a SAT>IP setup. But since this is new to me I wonder which brands to look for.
So if anyone has some knowledge on this topic, please share
Can add that I need atleast a SAT>IP server that has 4 SAT inputs.

I've been using the IDL400s for a couple of years, it's pretty warm in the IT closet over summer and no problems. I use perexg's custom firmware for the DL-400s/Grundig GSS.BOX/Telestar Digibit R1 boxs all of which I believe to be functionally identical.

Thank you Strebor, will check out your suggestions. Very nice that Perexg has a custom firmware for them also
Many thanks!

Well, I actually bought a Digibit R1 and got it running instant :).
But I have also run into a problem with flashing Perexg FW, I cant get the box to boot on USB. Tried 4 different USB-sticks (sizes, brand and filesystems fat/fat32/ntfs).
I followed the instructions - Download satip-axe-201705251044-14.flash (rename to idl4k.scr) and satip-axe-201705251044-14.fw to USB root.
The only thing I see when booting is all led lit for a few seconds but no "Knight Rider effect"
Anyone have any ideas, have I missed a step?

I think only one of the two USB ports is usable for booting satip-axe
is my only thought....S

Thanks Strebor,
I have actually tried both of them, since the one on top did not boot the stick :(.
If I have some time tonight I will troubleshoot some more.

Solved it
I created the stick with my Windows computer instead of my Linux-laptop and it worked :).

Splendid....I've had Linux make a horlicks of formatting a USB stick when seen through Redmond eyes, I think its the fat32 LBA id 0c thing. Gparted will sort it...S
